BELLAIR STATION - 108 years old and still going

Built in 1899 it served as a link to supply the troops during the Boer War - with many thousand of troops, concentration camp inmates and prisoners of war passing through the station.

Directions to Bellair Station from the north side of Durban:
Take the N2 southbound until Exit-161, signposted Edwin Swales Dr., Queensburgh. At the bottom of the off-ramp turn left onto Edwin Swales Drive (M7).  At the first of traffic lights, in about 1Km, turn right into Wakesleigh Road (M10).  In about 1.5Km turn right, just after the railway bridge, into Sarnia Road.  Drive about 500M and turn right, before the railway bridge, into Woolwich Road.  Secure parking is on the left hand side on the grassed area.  Entrance to the station is via the subway to your left.

Directions to Bellair Station from the west, Pinetown/Westville side of Durban:
Take the N3 toward Durban.  When you are approaching the 4-level intersection, just past the Pavillion Shopping Center, keep in the left hand lane and take the South Coast turn off.  Continue on the N2 southbound until Exit-161, signposted Edwin Swales Dr., Queensburgh. At the bottom of the off-ramp turn left onto Edwin Swales Drive (M7).  At the first of traffic lights, in about 1Km, turn right into Wakesleigh Road (M10).  In about 1.5Km turn right, just after the railway bridge, into Sarnia Road.  Drive about 500M and turn right, before the railway bridge, into Woolwich Road.  Secure parking is on the left hand side on the grassed area.  Entrance to the station is via the subway to your left.

Directions to Bellair Station from the south, Amanzimtoti side of Durban:
Take the N2 northbound until Exit-161, signposted Edwin Swales Dr., Queensburgh. At the bottom of the off-ramp turn right, under the freeway, onto Edwin Swales Drive (M7).  At the first of traffic lights, in about 1Km, turn right into Wakesleigh Road (M10).  In about 1.5Km turn right, just after the railway bridge, into Sarnia Road.  Drive about 500M and turn right, before the railway bridge, into Woolwich Road.  Secure parking is on the left hand side on the grassed area.  Entrance to the station is via the subway to your left.
